Paddle board, kayak or walk to Northey Island to explore the saltmarsh and old causeway onto the island.
Find the small boating lake next to Maldon Yacht Club, in Promenade Park, Park Dr, Maldon CM9 5JQ (51.726158, 0.695925). Either launch from the riverside ramp 2 hours before high tide and paddle east to the island or walk the seawall 1 mile south, past the yacht club, to the Green Farm path onto the island. It can be walked at low tide.

Wallow in the warm water and mud from July until late September.
Find Steeple Church (51.692045, 0.797750) and walk west along The Street and St Peter's Way 1 mile to to the sea wall. At seawall turn north/right all walk 1 mile to small beach just before the River Blackwater.

Swim or wild camp the shell beach in the shadow of England’s oldest church.
Find the end of East End Road, Bradwell-on-Sea, Southminster, CM0 7PN (51.732764, 0.930031) Walk 1/2 mile E past the church and turn north/left at the seawall and follow another 1/3 mile to shell beach.
